First of all, thanks so much to all that came to the Sassy Family Kid's Swap and Diaper Drive. We had a good crowd (with some return visitors) and a few, but very large, packages of diapers. This time we had visitors all the way until the end of the event, so we didn't lose a lot of parents to the dreaded nap time :) You can check out the pictures on our photo page. Apologies for the directions of some of the pics. When we figure out how to correct it, we'll get the pictures straight :)
In other news, before the swap ended, we made sure to secure Rock Paper Scissors for our next swap. Our next swap will be Saturday, April 5, 10AM-2PM at RPS in Oakland. So that gives you plenty of time to get your clothes and toys together. There will not be a diaper drive at the April 5 event.
Now it's time to get things together for our first craft fair of the year. Our hope is to have it for mid-March. Watch the webpage and this blog for updates on that :)
Again thank you, thank you, thank you to our loyal fans and look forward to seeing you all in the spring!
Quick live update of our first swap of 2014! Things are going well with our swap. Consistent customers, return customers, kiddies and more! It's one o'clock and we're still here taking people, so come through!
Happy Holidays! I found had a break after Sassy Family's last swap to relax and I totally forgot about this blog. Here's the latest going on with Sassy Family.
We're planning our next Kids clothing swap on January 18, 2014. We're going to have it again at Rock Paper Scissors in downtown Oakland. That venue proved to be the right place for what Sassy Family does. This time we are also having a diaper drive to benefit Help A Mother Out. To learn more about them, check out their site at http://www.helpamotherout.org. Our hope is that by March we will have swaps that will not only focus on kids, but their parents and other adults as well. Look out for it! For you'd like more info on the event
email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also in March 2014, we will be planning our next craft fair. We have had several new applicants so it looks like it will be a very good fair. Look forward to news on that soon!
For all of these events we are going to need volunteers. If you are interested, check out our volunteer page!
