6:39 AM--Rise and shine! I'm up getting things ready for today's swap. Car is loaded up and I'm taking off from my home in South Nash in about 45 minutes. We're expecting a lot of people, so me and Colleen will be getting ready early. Colleen's moving a little slow since she's due with baby #2 on April 29! Watch this blog for pics and updates on today's swap!

Repost from FB:
Today, Christmas Eve, we have only one week left in our Sassy Family Donation Drive and, let’s be honest, we are far from our goal of $750 dollars. Currently, we have enough for one month of storage. That’s it.
Please consider helping Sassy Family. Any amount is appreciated and can be written off your taxes. All funds go directly to keeping Sassy Family going and making sure that all families can have things needed for their children.
There is a donate button on top of this FB page and also you can donate through the Sassy Family website at http://sassyfamily.weebly.com
10 days into our December fundraiser and we are getting closer to our goal of $750. We still need all the help we can get, though. The needs are small but great for us to continue the work of giving families the things that they need for their children.
Please consider donating!
11:31 AM— a bit of a slow turn out but we’re setup ready to go!
dont let the rain keep you away! Come through!
45 minutes left in the swap. We have a few people looking but the rain is really keeping people away.
But we’ve gotten some great items though. Thanks to Sarah and Ingrid (board members) for setting everything up!
I love it when old friends come! It was so good to have Varsha come through and swap! Small crowd but as usual everyone had fun! Look forward to seeing you all again at our next swap :)
8:23 AM--Getting ready to rive up t the Main Street Gallery for the swap! Remember, I 24 is closed going into East Nashville, so be prepared for alternative routes :)
9:51 AM--after a mad rush to get things setup and sort through early drop off, we're ready to go! Come through!
11:38 am-- it was a massive rush at this swap that started as soon as we opened and didn't stop until now.
lots of new people and old friends coming through and of course we still have lots of items. A hour and a half left!
1:42 PM: after a really big pick up we tapered off around 1230. As we get ready to pack up we had one more special customer. Mike Mannix from WXNA came with his new family to get some items. Thanks to that radio station for letting people know about the event. Look out for our next event either in January or March depending on the weather.
Good Morning all! It's 6AM (shock!!) and I'm ding final loading to go to Main Street Gallery for our swap today. Watch this blog page for pics and live updates!
10 AM – – it got a little crazy when our venue was double booked. But we made lemonade out of lemons and I having a great event. Thanks so much to our quick volunteers for jumping in. More pictures soon.
11:26-- Things are finally calming down! So excited to see return customers and quite a few people who want to help us volunteer! An hour and half to go!
12:48--Things are slowing down and we're finally wrapping up. Now we even have Halloween costumes donated that we have for our next swap. Thanks to everyone who came!
It's been a really busy summer for me, but it's winding down and that means our summer swap! We'll be back at Main Street Gallery for swapping and fun. Also, this is the perfect time to swap your child's out grown uniforms because many schools in Metro require standard school attire.
Don't have clothes? That's ok. Just grab what you need because there is plenty.
Look for more updates this week and hope to see you all on Saturday!
As you may have read on our front page, Sassy Family is in need of storage boxes for their Nashville swaps. We receive so many clothes that we do not have enough boxes to store them in our storage unit or to display them during our swaps. We are specifically looking for large plastic bins. We're running this drive starting today, June 3 to July 3, 2017.
Plastic bins generally cost between $6-$20 dollars. Any amount you can donate will help towards getting the storage bins. Also, if you have plastic storage bins that you don't need, that would help as well.
Please click the "Donate" button below to financially donate through our secure Pay Pal account. After your financial donation, you will receive a receipt, which you can use for tax purposes
Also, if you have extra storage bins, then email us at email@example.com or call at 615-398-9872 and let us know and we can arrange to pick it up.
8:15--All packed up and ready to go! On our way to drop off our stuff at Main St., Gallery and start the swap. Hope you guys can come. Thanks start at 10 AM.
11 AM Whew! Q
11AM--Whew! We have had so many people! We still have lots of clothes and toys! Come through...
12:55 Wrapping up! And we still have tons of people! Thanks so much Nashville!
5:40 PM--Recovering from a great swap! As usual we ended up with more clothes than ever, but that's ok, because there are plans underway to give those directly to needy families. We also received some financial donations that will help us for the next couple of months with storage. Now we are in need for more boxes to store all these clothing....Check our Facebook page at http://facebook.com/SassyFamilyInc for more details!
Happy New Years, Valentine's Day, and upcoming spring!
We here at Sassy Family took a break since October and just wanted to update you on what's been going on:
*Sarah (our Oakland swap guru) had her 3rd baby, Levi, this fall. She's adjusting to life with 3 kids under six and is planning to come back for another Oakland swap this spring.
*Colleen (our resourceful Nashville savior) has gotten married, bought a house, and settled into life with hubby and kid.
*Erica (Sassy Family's fearless and crazy leader) has been doing well with her weekly radio show, balancing family life, work life, and registering her 5 year old for kindergarten.
Sounds like we did a lot and we did! However, we haven't forgotten about SF and are planning events as we speak.
Quick update on one event that happened during our break.. our holiday fundraiser! As you may remember, we were trying to raise $250 to cover storage costs for our storage unit in Nashville. We were able to raise $150, which allowed us to have storage for January and February. We are planning to do fundraisers at our swaps this year and a large fundraiser through Indiegogo for maintenance of storage and costs for putting on swaps.
So when are our next swaps? In Nashville, March 18 at Main St. Gallery. Time TBA. In Oakland, March or April at Oakland Baha'i Center. Time and Date TBA. So start cleaning out your closets, bookshelves, and toy bins!
Super excited to be back for 2017! Hope you are too!
